Contract Negotiation and Compensation Advisory
Frequently Asked Questions
Are You Attorneys?
No. Our principals are former hospital and health system executives. We do not give legal advice, and we will tell you plainly when a question needs someone who can.
Should I Use You or a Lawyer?
Accord complements legal counsel with business and operational analysis. Questions about legal meaning, enforceability, obligations, and legal changes go to your attorney.
Will Negotiating Cost Me the Offer?
Employers respond differently, and no advisor can guarantee that an offer will remain available or improve. We help you weigh priorities, timing, and trade-offs and prepare a considered approach.
My Employer Says the Agreement Is Standard.
A standard template can still raise questions about compensation and role expectations. We help identify the business issues worth discussing; counsel evaluates legal terms.
What If I Have Already Signed?
Then the compensation review and reconciliation is the right service. Signing does not end the questions about how you are paid. It starts them.
Do You Negotiate on My Behalf?
We help providers and other professionals prepare for interviews, evaluate employment offers, negotiate business and compensation terms, and review compensation during the agreement. The engagement defines Accord's role in discussions. You decide what to request and accept; your attorney handles legal advice and contract drafting. We do not guarantee a particular contract, compensation increase, or recovery.
What Happens After I Sign?
Support continues after signature under the agreed scope. We review available compensation records at agreed intervals, track questions and responses, and help you prepare for employer discussions and renewal decisions. The engagement identifies the review schedule, records you provide, and how ongoing questions are handled. The fee and payment options are provided after we review the scope, before you decide to engage.
Do You Also Work for Employers?
Accord has an institutional advisory practice and it is kept separate from this one in writing. We do not represent an individual against an organization that engages us, and we disclose any conflict before you engage. Read our conflict policy →
Do You Only Work in Healthcare?
Our primary experience is in healthcare. We assess other professional employment matters individually and identify where additional sector expertise or market data is needed before accepting work. How our fees work →
